CIRCUIT is an interactive installation that uses the webcam to track the presence of people and imitates glitchy circuit bending effects on a CRT TV.

The image of oneself subtly combines tangibility and invisibility. One can touch it and feel it but can never see it without representations in other media. After the invention of electronic devices, images made up of electronic circuits have been displayed on flat screens everywhere for decades. But the image is still intangible, existing only as a form of energy.

To further emphasize and exaggerate how images distort and misrepresent reality and our conceptions of the self, CIRCUIT captures the energy that enables the image and gives it a mesmerizing twist.

CIRCUIT was selected for Scripting, a juried group exhibition at theBlanc gallery from June 25th to July 1st, 2022
